“From Rural Hungary to Israel: A Family’s Journey of Resilience and Identity”

Join us on Sunday, February 23rd, as Yossi Adler is our guest speaker, sharing his family’s incredible story of survival, faith, and perseverance. Yossi will take us on a journey through the tumultuous history of pre-war rural Hungary, the challenges faced during the Holocaust, and his parents’ courageous path to rebuilding their lives in Israel.

Yossi will reflect on his parents’ experiences:

• Life in Rural Hungary: Growing up in a tight-knit Jewish community that thrived on tradition and faith before the devastation of the Holocaust.

• The War Years: The struggles and unimaginable hardships endured by his family during the Holocaust, including displacement, persecution, and loss.

• The Journey to Israel: After surviving the horrors of the war, his parents joined countless others in seeking refuge and hope in the land of Israel, contributing to the early Zionist movement and the building of a new homeland.

Yossi will also share a bit about his own upbringing, including attending yeshiva and growing up in the aftermath of such incredible struggle endured by his parents. He will provide insights into how these experiences have shaped his values, identity, and outlook on life.

This special session offers a rare glimpse into history, told through the lens of personal experience, and will inspire reflection on the enduring strength of the Jewish people.
