Insights on Reversal: Unlocking the Hidden Power of Purim
One of the most profound themes of Purim is the principle of “V’nahafoch Hu” (וְנַהֲפוֹךְ הוּא)—the idea that everything can flip, what seems hopeless can be redeemed, and darkness itself holds the key to the greatest light.
On the surface, Purim is a story of political intrigue and unexpected turns of fate. But from a Kabbalistic perspective, it reveals deep spiritual truths about the hidden structure of reality, the way divine energy flows, and how we can tap into cosmic reversals in our own lives.

✡️ Classic Hamantaschen Recipe
Dough Ingredients:
2/3 cup sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened) or neutral oil for dairy-free
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon orange zest (optional but gives a nice touch)
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
Filling Ideas:
Fruit preserves (apricot, raspberry, strawberry)
Poppy seed filling
Chocolate spread (Nutella or similar)
Prune butter
Lemon curd
Instructions:
Make the dough:
In a large bowl, cream together the sugar and butter until smooth.
Add eggs, vanilla, and orange zest. Mix well.
In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Mix until it forms a soft dough.
If it's sticky, add a little extra flour.
Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill for at least 1 hour (or overnight).
Preheat oven:
350°F (175°C).
Roll and shape:
On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to about 1/8 inch thick.
Cut out circles (about 3 inches wide) using a glass or cookie cutter.
Place a teaspoon of filling in the center of each circle.
Fold edges to form a triangle, pinching the corners well to seal.
Bake:
Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Bake for 12-15 minutes until lightly golden.
Cool and enjoy!
Dust with powdered sugar if you like.
📝 Notes:
Don’t overfill or they’ll pop open.
For extra golden color, you can brush the edges with a little beaten egg before baking.
